The Lord led a retired, Canadian teacher to the Home of Loving Faithfulness, a place living up to its name, retreaded him and pressed him into service. Little did he realize when he first visited the home-rather reluctantly-in December, 2001 that he would revisit it more than a dozen times over the following ten years. This is a love story, an account of a special friendship between a retired teacher and a severely handicapped girl, a record of the joy that flows from serving others. Bill Van Dam, a retired special needs teacher, lives with his wife Ena, also a teacher, in Abbotsford, British Columbia. After raising a family of five children, they taught English for six years in Chinese colleges and universities.
